Mog or Die Genetics Guide

Choose Mog or Die Genetics for the current run, compare exact effects, test stacking, and plan around a possible MOG reset.

Mog or Die says players choose unique Genetics for every run. That official wording makes Genetics a run-planning decision rather than a permanent universal tier. The public description does not list the choice pool, timing, effects, rarity, stacking, reroll price, or exact reset behavior, so use the current option text and the objective you plan to complete.

Choose for the next objective

Read every offered name and effect before selecting. Decide whether the next part of the run is ordinary stat collection, a MOG BATTLE, a bounty hunt, a MOG KING attempt, a Risk Zone, a world event, a Mog Drop contest, or a boss. Prefer an effect whose condition you can trigger and observe in that objective.

For a first run, choose clarity over rarity. An option with a direct visible effect on a known action is easier to evaluate than one with a complex condition. Save a screenshot of the choices because the menu may close after selection.

Do not assume a Genetics color is a tier or that ā€œuniqueā€ means mutually exclusive across all players. Use only the labels and rules shown by the current game.

Test the exact effect

Create a baseline before choosing: four stats, Ability, MogPoints, location, event state, and intended action. Select the Genetics option, repeat the same action, and record the claimed field. If the text mentions a chance, several attempts are needed; one activation cannot reveal the probability.

Keep Abilities separate. Change only Genetics during the comparison. If an Ability roll, Golden collectible, Risk Zone, code boost, Daily reward, or Playtime reward changes at the same time, label the test inconclusive and repeat later.

Use visible values, timers, or result messages. Avatar appearance can support the observation but should not replace the stat panel.

Check stacking and replacement

If the game later offers another Genetics choice in the same run, read whether it says add, replace, combine, evolve, or reroll. Capture the current set before selecting. Afterward, reopen the panel and count the equipped entries rather than assuming both remain.

Test interactions one pair at a time. Two effects can be additive, multiplicative, exclusive, capped, or conditional. Do not calculate a combined percentage until the current result supports it.

If a selection warning says the old Genetics will be lost, stop and compare the current effect with the new option. A new color or longer description is not automatically an upgrade.

Plan around the run reset

ā€œFor every runā€ indicates that Genetics are connected to the run, and losing a battle can lead to MOG erasing run progress. Before a high-stakes player challenge, decide whether the current Genetics is valuable enough to protect. Use SPARE agreements only with players you trust and remember that the winner controls the final choice.

After being MOGGED, check whether the Genetics entry disappears, returns to a starting choice, or remains. Record the exact boundary. Also check ordinary death, leaving, and server change separately; they may not equal a MOG reset.

If a run ends, rebuild the four-stat route first and then select Genetics for the next goal. Chasing the previous option without public odds or costs can delay recovery.

Compare Genetics without a tier list

Reliability

How often can the stated condition occur in your route, and can you see the result?

Timing

Does the effect help before the risky objective, only after winning, or throughout the run?

Opportunity cost

What useful option, currency, or run time do you give up by selecting or rerolling it?

Persistence

Does the current build keep it through the events that matter to this run?

This role-based comparison remains useful after balance changes. A letter tier without the exact effect, build date, and objective does not.

Genetics FAQ

What are the Genetics names?

No complete verified named pool was public in the sources checked. Use exact live labels and record the date before adding a choice.

Can Genetics stack?

The public description does not say. Inspect the current panel when a second choice appears and test one combination at a time.

Do Genetics survive being MOGGED?

They are described as per-run, so a reset is a major concern, but the exact live boundary must be observed.

Source and confidence

Per-run Genetics choices are Official, checked August 27, 2026. Names, effects, rarity, selection timing, stacking, costs, and reset rules need in-game testing.
